After a coffee, a bacon butty and a good look around all the cars, entrants are waved off
in style.
The routes are typically 60-80 miles long and, depending on whether a spot of lunch is enjoyed en route, entrants typically arrive at the finish
around 2pm.
A wide variety of finishing venues have been visited in the past including Sandringham, Houghton Hall, Norwich Cathedral, Creake Abbey, Thursford Collection, Gressenhall Museum, Muckleburgh Museum, Pensthorpe Natural Park, Felbrigg Hall, Wolterton Hall, Wroxham Barns, the Norfolk Tank Museum, Northrepps Airfield and Brisley Cricket Ground.
There is always something interesting to see and do at the end!
Awards are given at the finish for 'Most Desirable', 'Best condition' and 'Most fun' car, voted for by the entrants themselves.
As well as being a fun and social event, since 2008 the rally has raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
All profits from the rally have been donated to a wide range of charities including Nelson’s Journey, Homestart Norfolk, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, About with Friends, ADD Norfolk, Tapping House Hospice, Hamelin Trust, Quidenham Children’s Hospice, BIG C, Happisburgh Inshore Lifeboat, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Nansa, Ormiston Families, Musical Keys
and BUILD.
The running of the Charles Clark Classic Car Rally has always been well supported by both individuals and local businesses and the organisers are very grateful to everyone that has sponsored the rally over the years.
